Genesis Revisited – The Creation

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” Ecclesiastes 3:1

I love the book of Genesis. How can you not? Genesis is the beginning. It is the creation. There is magic and mystery within every page. And that’s just what you read; as you study it and go deeper it gets even more amazing. So when I had the chance to review Gensis Revisited, I could not say yes fast enough!

” He says in the introduction: “Any human or alien being from any world can be challenged to create a planet, to establish space, or to make a complex living being, man or animal, and to create a world in which to survive, but it will not happen. People may create artificial environments, or artificial body parts, and they may grow hybrid plants and trees; but what if the challenge was to start with nothing, not even space? No individual alone can accomplish this. It is challenging to think anyone may think it is possible.”

I consider how we have designed babies nowadays. Scientists out there cloning; creating and recreating “better” fruits and vegetables, “better” medicines. Too many liberties are take in the world today; I fear we think too highly of our abilities forgetting that only the Creator truly can make things new.

Many times I have thought about where the actual creation took place. Was it the planet Earth? Or was it another? Or are there multiple planets with life that were created at the time of creation? Its something interesting to consider.

“From Adam and Eve’s time the world’s population (Earth’s) in 2011 was 6,996,508,800. It does seem possible judging from the age of the Earth to imagine some of this population might have come from other worlds.”

He has many very interesting views within this book; I do not believe that any of it can be proven one way or another. But I do find it interesting to consider many of the points he makes within this book. This is a thought provoking read; it will also drive you to your Bible and concordance regularly. I always love a book that brings me back to God’s Word. Without a doubt there are many amazing truths hidden within the Word of God. I myself have many times contemplated much of what is discussed within these pages. To consider that there could be life on another planet; that as creation took place in the beginning, it was spread about, not just to Earth but to other planets as well. It is well to remember we should not overlook what God can do.

“A fire-mist and a planet,
A crystal and a cell,
A jelly-fish and a saurian,
A cave where the cave-men dwell;
Then a sense of law and order,
A face upturned from the clod;
Some call it Evolution,
And others call it God.”
