A Letter of Love

Dear Sister in Christ;

The very first thing I want you to know is that I’ve been praying for you and I do love you. We have been praying for you. We have been seeking His face and it is with His spirit that I am writing this.

However there are things that just cannot continue. It brings me great sorrow to have to write this in the first place but as a mother and as a wife, a keeper of my home, a protector of my family, I cannot allow negative spirits to come into our home. I cannot encourage, or look the other way, when it comes to those my children look to, when they see something that is not Christ like. Perhaps you are not aware of the things you do but when our actions do not show Him, actively, in our life, we need others to come to us. We need to hear and pray, earnestly, for His truth to be shown us. His word says that a wise woman builds up her home; a foolish woman tears it down. May none of us foolishly tears down our homes and families. That said, please hear, as I speak. This is not meant to do any thing other than build you up; please keep in mind, we are for some, the only Bible they shall ever “read”.

I grow weary of having to speak to my children about how you treat your husband and your son. There are too many times, you interrupt, you go over your husband and your son, to discipline our children. You need to trust that we are raising them, according to His word. We are more than happy to sit with you and show you what we do and how it all works. We need for you to show the respect to your husband and our son, as they deserve, as God commands. This is an example for our children; it shows that we are all under His authority. As wives and mothers, we cannot condemn, or talk down to, we can interrupt another when they are managing the home or the children. There is a way that is right. It is not a proper example for our children; especially Tyler who struggles with his own rebellious spirit. You need to encourage, to speak truth, in love, and show that you support and respect your husband and your son. The key is showing it. Because truthfully, actions are much more telling, than words are.

When we are born again, washed clean in the water, the old man has passed away. But we need to apply, we need to put on the new man. When we are filled with the Holy Ghost, He lives within us, but we need to listen for that still, small voice, which is His, and we need to apply what it says, to our lives. There is a great power that comes with His truth, when one is born again and living ALL for Him. There are things we must change, ways we must live, if we wish to truly have His blessings in our lives. We need to examine ourselves daily; we need to not just repent but we need to forgive others and seek their forgiveness. We must cast the anger and the bitterness aside pulling them out as weeds are removed from the gardens; leaving no root. We cannot allow any of that to remain or we will still be unclean. We are to be under the authority of our husbands. We are to encourage and love them, to support them. Christian submission is a way that we show not just a love of our husbands but also a love of Him and His truth. We are to respect and honor others homes; we appreciate you taking the tine to come here to watch our home and our pets for a week but there are common rules and expectations we have, that we expect to be followed. Without us being attacked. This is our home and you are certainly welcome within, but you must, as all others, joyfully obey the rules we have in place. They are here for a reason. Little eyes, little ears hear. It is sad that your grandson prays so often for you be happy and to love grandpa. Because all he hears. He sees. How weary Shane is from all you demand of him; perhaps you do not know but he works very hard. He takes wonderful care of his family. Doing more than he needs to, so that we may continue to educate our children at home. So that we can enjoy our time as a family. Please respect him more and treat him as an adult who knows what is right and who is going to do that which is best for all in the eyes of God.

I understand that you see us as judging you and there is nothing I can say to convince you otherwise I am sure. Consider if you will, Jason and Ethan and Simon, Amanda and Bob and June and Jewel. These are also ones whom God loves. They too were created in His image with a purpose. And you and your husband are really the only ones they see who have any truth at all. What do they see in you? Is it Jesus? There are so many in desperate need of truth; of salvation. They may not know, usually all they know is that they need to be full. Jesus fills us but we do not know that if we do not see and feel Him in the life of someone else near to us We are the light; we are the salt. If we are not applying and living our His word; if we are not examining ourselves at the end of a sermon and considering His will for our life, we are not truly living for Him. There is so much power to save and to change people’s hearts and minds, to turn them towards our Lord and Savior but only when they see it in us. Only when we take the time to humble ourselves so completely that nothing matters but Him. If we do it right, there is such an amazing change in us, that others see, it is that sweet savor, attracting to Him. And Him using our hands, our feet, our hearts and our voices to show His love to others.

I absolutely know that He loves us. All of us. But it does not excuse our bad behavior and our wrong choices. As the body of Christ we are to be iron sharpening iron. It saddens me that I am unable to feel edified and refreshed by time with you. It saddens Shane as well that there is so much more of Him that could be alive and active in your life. But as we all must, we need to choose to humble ourselves before Him. We must embrace the fact that it is all about Him. Not us. We are His servants and the sooner we learn to serve as He did. The more we pray for Him to enlarge our heart and our faith, the greater His power in our life will be. The times are dark, His coming is so very near, we are not to sit idly by but we are to work the works of Him that sent us. For soon none shall work. We all know people who need to be saved and we all need to do more. I speak this as much for myself as for you. We need to be ready. We cannot let even the smallest bit of leaven get in our way.

We need to show the word, when we are not able to tell them. I pray that you can come under the authority of His Spirit, and under the authority of your husband. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Seek to show this love. For that is where there is so much more power, of Christ, experienced by so many. It is not hard to live for Him, it is not hard to change and release those old habits and unclean spirits within us, if we allow the Spirit to lead us in all things. Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” Let us not take this lightly. Once we are born again and filled with His Spirit there need be no excuses. We need not say “but” or “what if” because we have His power, we are made new when we PUT ON the new man. When we take up our cross daily; we shall not be offended if we die daily, for Him. I think on all that He has done for us, all the persecution and hurt and it saddens me that we have come to a place where in your eyes, we wrong you and judge you. We seek only for you to have a true salvation, a true life in Christ. There is so much more for your family but it cannot be if you are not the witness you are called to be.

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9). If we allow ourselves to be under His authority, under our husbands authority, there will be blessings in abundance. If we do those hard things, and do not make excuses. If we place Him before all else in our lives; change happens and others shall see and seek after what we have. But we must allow His change in our life. We cannot hold on to old hurts and grudges; we must cast off our burdens in Jesus name. We must be less so that He can be more. There should be no doubt in the minds of all those we meet each day, whom it is that we serve.

I pray, in Jesus name, that you will seek Him more. That you will seek to examine yourself more completely, using His word. Letting it wash over you and renew you and cleanse your spirit completely. I pray that He will soften your heart and your spirit, bringing you to a place where you show love and obedience, humility and meekness. I pray that His power will wash over you; that you shall seek His face, that you will truly come to Him in earnest repentance. May His Spirit take over within your mind and your heart giving you a life that is pleasing to Him, one filled with the power and the love of Christ that is so alive and active lives truly shall be changed, just as one apostles shadow healed so many in need. We need to seek after that very power. Every day.

“For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: ‘Seek Me and live.'”

Let is be more than something we check off of our daily to do list. Let His word be that which we can not get enough of. Let is be that which gives us a greater burden for the lost; a deeper understanding and desire for Him. To do His will in our lives no matter what. Let it be something that takes us so deep, an anointing that gives us a stronger connection with Him each day. In everything seek Him and His will. It is the only way. Learn His word, know His word – it is more than just believing in God, it is more than agreeing with what His word says, it is LIVING His word every day. The way is narrow, few shall find it. Therefore test all things, be wise and discerning in all things. We are to be ALWAYS about our Father’s business. As one sows another reaps and so it goes. There is much work to be done.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8

May the Lord Jesus move in and on your life in a way more powerful than ever before. May you seek Him and believe Him – not just believe in Him but believe on Him in a way that is living and active and powerful.

Praise God!
