Wizzy Gizmo ~ Schoolhouse Review

How important is this command. God speaks clearly to us parents, this is what He would have us to do. We must teach our children His Words, His character, His ways. They must have a strong and sure foundation in the Lord. From the very first day I read this verse, I knew – there was no other way. So I was so happy to have the chance to review something that has a mission to “Equip children for life by exploring God’s Word.” Wizzy Gizmo. What a fun name right?My loved this one for the name alone (in the beginning anyway)! We received the Fast Track Bible Pack: New Testament flashcards recommended for ages 2 and up, for only $14.99. This was an awesome addition since our Bible Quiz year was in the New Testament too!

So what is Wizzy Gizm? Let me tell you: it is a series of Bible books and some audios too, designed to help children from age 4-12 explore the Bible through audio dramas, books, and flashcards. These resources are an amazing help to those seeking to share God’s word with children of most any age. We need to faithfully teach the Bible and keep those commands given to the Israelites so long ago, written in Deuteronomy 6:5-6. We need to hide His word in our hearts and theirs too. Wizzy Gizmo will help you do just that!

So as I said before, my kiddos (all three, ages 2, 4, and 8) are Bible Quizzers in our church. This year past we were in the Book of John and so I was very excited to have the chance to review the New Testament Fast Track Bible Pack, with my children. Especially my oldest son who has secretly told me God spoke to him not long ago, that he would one day be a preacher anointed by God. So he loves to read His word and loves to talk about what it means and what we are to do with it. I love it! These cards are filled with summaries of chapters, key doctrinal issues and key passages too. We referred to these often in Bible reading and study times, and will definitely continue to do so.

There are two sides to each card. On the front of the flashcard, you find a summary of one of the books in the New Testament, a Bible verse, and the theme, (I Iove the themes). On the card for Mark, the theme is ” Jesus as Servant”. ❤ On the right-hand side of the card, you find a list of important details; the date of the writing of the book, neat facts about the author. Again, the card for Mark, talks about how Mark was also called John Mark and his mother was Mary. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many” ~ Mark 10:45 We flip the card over now and see the back is full of goodies too!! There are five sections to the back of these cards that cover key chapters, passages and doctrine within the book. It also gives a brief outline and the key people are listed too.

These flashcards are great for kids!!!! They are bright, eye catching and full of important information in a way that easy for a child to grasp. For older for kids these are great for going a bit further; they can dig deeper as they reading their Bible. I do believe it is so important for us to understand each book within the Bible. There are revelations within that alone. What about the author? Why was it written and who was it written for? There was an audience that these gospels were written to, so long ago and knowing those things can really open up a greater understanding and comprehension of His word. There are also lots of fun suggestions on their website to help you really use these cards to the fullest potential with your children, at their various ages and stages. 🙂

I an definitely ay these were a fun addition to our homeschool days; one that we will be visiting again and again in the years to come. Really, there is always something new to learn within the Word of God if we come to Him with a teachable spirit. These Bible Summary Flashcards are a convenient Bible study tool for independent study too. I think of my oldest son who really likes to do things on his own showing he isn’t such a little boy anymore. It’s fun to fact test him too as he does a bit on his own here are there. “Can you tell me who wrote Hebrews? (Okay, that is a trick question, while some think it was the Apostle Paul, we are not sure.) “Do you know to whom Luke wrote? Or which Gospel was written first? Or what 2 Peter is all about?” We have answers to these questions; we are after all told we need to be able to give an answer for the hope that is in us. What a fun way to do just that! And believe me, if you are faithful, you will see great things. My 2 year old daughter can quote quite a bit of His word already, my 4 year old son too. And my oldest? Over 600 verses in his heart…When we are faithful….For the glory of God. Be faithful to His Word.
