Esther 1:5-8 (KJV)
And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king’s palace; Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble. And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king. And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man’s pleasure.
S: Matthew 4:8-9 (KJV) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
O: We too are tempted; we are often in a place where we must consider if what is being offered is truly best for us. Too often we forget that the devil was once an angel and when he comes, its with things that will entice; it is with the desires we have, things that excite and bring joy to us. Let our joy be in the Lord alone; Jesus had the strength of God when He was in the flesh, He was tempted as we are each day and yet He rested in the Lord. He knew that the devil was already defeated and He only had to stand for God. We are weak but He is strong in and through us 🙂
A: What is that temptation, that thing, that draws us away from the Lord? Let us never see all he has to offer and forsake those things of God. We must think ourselves happy, think ourselves content. For this world and all in it will pass away and there are things so much greater than we could ever imagine, waiting for us, in His Kingdom. Choose joy, choose peace, choose contentment.
P: Jesus i pray today ,that you would wash every one of these ladies, bless them and give them your peace. Helpthem to have that joy and contentment which we so desperately need. In a time when so many things attempt to steal our time and attention from you Lord, renew and enlarge our hearts for you Jesus, increase our faith ever more. Keep our mind and our eyes on you and all that is to come. For the joy of the Lord is our strength; In Jesus name!
