2 Timothy 3:6-7 (KJV)
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Are you gullible? Silly? A little woman? I read this and ponder – how much more can we be if we are IN Christ? Are we weak in a good way or a bad way?
Proverbs 31 calls us to be “clothed in strength and dignity”.
What am I?
There are characteristics we are given: creeping into households, burdened with sins, always learning but never able to arrive? These are habits, traits we must remove from our homes and our selves if we wish to be that strong and courageous woman God calls us to be.
Are we wary of who we allow into our lives? It was just said of me the other day, that I was one who was very cautious about who I allow into my home and life. We must be on guard and wise that we do not let things and people which are negative move into our lives.
“Sin does not advance by leaps; it advances by creeps….one small compromise at a time…” Mary Kassian
It never really hit me before; how important it is to BE at home. I mean, I have three little ones, with a fourth on he way; we love to be home. But to really be present. Involved in our home. We are to be defenders, protectors of our home. Of our families. This is powerful ❤
Psalm 113:9 (KJV) He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.
Are we looking well upon our home? Are we building it up or tearing it down? We need to shut down those things that creep into our home; be aware of sin in our home and attend to it.
We cannot be captivated or confused by those lies that surround us. We cannot be immature. We cannot be wishy washy about our circumstances. We cannot be confused about our priorities, our identities, our beliefs. As we struggle against sin; we can only win or lose in our mind, knowing His word and standing firmly upon it.
How we need the Word of God. Desperately. To know that book and its pages; to know His truth so that we will know those lies when they come our way. We must equip and protect our minds.
We need, I need, to take EVERY thought captive unto Christ. I cannot allow things to pile up; I must not allow baggage to pile up in my life and my home. Sins must be addressed, repented of, resolved….if we stuff them, we only allow new sins to come into our life. Let’s face it, sin makes us all stupid.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
We all have burdens we bear; are we bearing those burdens He has for us? Are we letting go, casting our cares onto Him? Those cares that are not His for us? Is there something in the dark, hidden? If so, it has power over us. But if we speak, confess that sin, that darkness must flee.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much
Prayer is powerful; there is power in the body of Christ – as we seek truth, as we search ourselves and ask Him to search us, let us call out and cast off those burdens that are hidden in darkness.
Release yourself from the power of darkness !
Let us be women of strength who are wise, with the heart and mind of Christ alone.
