We attend a church that believes in and experiences the gifts of the Spirit, in full operation, often. Our service this weekend was no different. In fact it was o very powerful; so full of His Spirit and presence….How I love being able to experience not just His presence, but the manifestation of God too! 🙂
It was a message of love; a reminder of His promises to us if we are obedient to His word. You could feel the love and the mercy of God in every word. But it was a painful reminder too – are we ready? – that there are many out there yet, who are not prepared for His return. And it got me to thinking about my walk with God; my need for more. A mentor perhaps… Because as was said, within the message that came in, He comes so very soon and we must be sure to make ourselves ready.
(42) Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. (43) But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. (44) Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Jesus tells us, He urges His bride to be alert, wakeful, and constantly watching for those signs of His return. Yet, if we are honest, even for those who are aware, His coming will be with a jarring suddenness—even more so to those who are busy, in the world, “eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage.”
We must live with vigilance; we must live each day as though He comes in this very hour. We must study His word more for it tells us how to be prepared. It tells us how to use the time we have and our energies until the time of His appearance.
It makes me ponder my time. Am I being a wise steward of the time He has given?
Without a doubt we are living in the end times, still, we do not know exactly when the Lord will return. This means we must be diligent; every day we must prepare ourselves. Expecting the unexpected. Searching every day within for any secret sins; may we sincerely pray and earnestly seek to keep our garments clean. As His bride let us be washed and anointed, fully prepared for His return.
