Can you believe its already week 12 of this series? This week we are sharing about the letter “L” and so, what better word to use than “love” because doesn’t the Word say love is the greatest of all things and without it we are nothing?
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. ~~ 1 Corinthians 13:2
Love is so powerful. It is a mighty “tool” you could say; when we love someone or something….oh the things we will do and say and the distances we will go to for them.
How much do we love the Lord?
Jesus said : “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Our Pastor even speaks often about how important it is to have love for one another; when we have love we can do so much more. For one another. For God.
The true is we will never love our neighbor as ourselves if we do not love God FIRST with all our heart, mind, and soul.
It matters not if we keep every command He has written, if we “cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but not the inside” (Matthew 23:25–26) what does it matter?
We ought to ask ourselves , do we live according to these command? Do we truly love God with all our hearts, all our souls, and all our minds, and do we really love our neighbor as ourselves?
We ought to do all things out of love for God. Just as we ought to share and reach out to our neighbor’s in love. Not out of a sense of duty but a desire to reach the lost and love them like Jesus.
